Check below for your photo of the day:The Photo-of-the-Day discussions are meant to help you practice analyzing pictures and using the language of photography. In addition it is a graded activity. We will do these at the very beginning of class on Mondays and Fridays. Please be prepared to discuss as soon as I finish attendance. Each month you will be expected to make a set number of comments in the class discussion. This is meant to be a discussion amongst the entire class, so be sure to pay attention to what others are saying. You may choose to respond to their ideas. As we progress throughout the year your comments will become more complex and will utilize more photographic terminology as we learn new things. To get us started here are a few ideas of what you might choose to comment on.
*Why you like or dislike the photo
*What you feel the photo means or what it makes you think about *How and why you think the photographer drew you to a specific subject within the frame *Elements of composition the photographer used or should have used *How you believe the photo was created or edited *How the photo compares to others you've seen Today we will be discussing this as a group but I would also like you to answer at least 3 of the questions above and send them in via google classroom. You will need to send the photo to me in Classroom so everyone can see the photo you're talking about during discussion.
Monday the 4th Select a photo that you like from a site (such as Pinterest, Instagram, Google, Tumblr, DPChallenge, etc.) and share it with the class. You'll need to share it to Classroom with either a link to it or download it and upload to Classroom. Be prepared to share why you selected that photograph. Friday the 8th Share a photo that you feel clearly uses an element of composition. Monday the 11th Share a photo that you feel has a message. Monday the 15th Share a photo that captures the beauty of the desert. Monday the 18th Share a a photo that makes you want to try a new technique. Friday the 22nd Share a photo that shows a place you've never been. Monday the 25th Share a photo that makes you excited for summer.
